Datsun Go Plus is the pioneer of all new segment in India, the subcompact MPV. Nissan ceded to launch a new low-cost brand as an alternative to the entry level competition. The result, Datsun with all new variants of cars. Datsun Go Plus is the deemed as a complete family wagon.

Tata Tiago is the recently launched model from the automobile giants Tata based on the previous Indica series. But there has been enough amends and deeds to provide Tiago with a unique identity of its own. Currently one of the top sellers with 10,000 units within a span of 2 months, this one demands royalty.

Engine

Datsun Go Plus has rolled petrol engine under the hood with a displacement of 1198 cc.The peak power for the engine is 68PS @6000 RPM with a maximum torque of 104 Nm @ 4000 RPM. There are 5 driving gears equipped with a front wheel driveline. The transmission remains manual for all its variant.

Tata Tiago comes in two engine variants with both petrol and diesel options available. The petrol variant is equipped with 1199 cc engine with a power of 85 PS @ 6000 RPM and a torque of 114Nm @3500 RPM. The diesel version of Tata Tiago is powered with a 1047 cc engine dishing out 70PS @4000 RPM with a torque of 140 Nm @ 1800-3000 RPM.

Both the variants of Tata Tiago come with 5-speed manual transmission amid a front wheel driveline.

Mileage

Equipped with a 35 ltr fuel tank capacity, Datsun Go Plus offers anARAI-certified mileage of 20.6 km/ltr.

Tata Tiago also possesses a 35 ltr fuel tank capacity but the mileage differs with its petrol and diesel engine. The petrol engine offers anARAI-certified mileage of 23km/ltr while the diesel one offers anARAI-certified mileage of 27 km/ltr.

Suspension & Steering

Datsun Go Plus is equipped with MacPherson Strut with double pivot lower arm front suspension and H-type torsion beam as the rear one. There’s power steering on the high-end variant of it while the low-priced ones offer manual steering.

Tata Tiago sports independent, lower wishbone, McPherson Strut with coil spring for the front suspension and semi-independent, twisted beam with dual path strut as the rear suspension. The power steering is available in all the variants of Tata Tiago.

Seating and Boot Space

Being an MPV, Datsun Go Plus offers seating capacity for 7-people in three seating rows. There’s 5 doors attached to the sides and the back. The boot space for Datsun Go Plus is 347 ltr.

Tata Tiago meanwhile offers seating capacity for 5-people in 2-seating rows. It also features 5 doors attached to the sides and back. The boot space for this one is 242 ltr.

Amenities& Features

Moving on with the features and amenities, the high-end variants are likely to be laden with premium features, unlike the basic models. Here’s a brief intro into their featureline.

Datsun Go Plus offers multifunction display, ventilation system, power outlets, engine immobilizer and child safety locks in the basic variant. The high-end variant is further equipped with airbags, central locking, power windows, keyless entry and more.
