Tata Ace is the most popular mini truck in India. If you have visited a remote locality in India lately, you must have seen at least one Tata Ace being driven around. The same Tata Ace body is used for other purpose like commutation by modifying the body. In a smaller package, the Tata Ace is robust yet very compact. Tata Ace comes in a total of 12 variants; the engine capacity, power and the fuel differs from one variant to another. However the most basic of configurations still remain the same for all the models.
The ex-showroom price for Tata Ace starts at Rs. 2.6 lacs and it changes across different variants. 36 months of EMI option is available for relaxed financing on any Tata Ace truck. The down payment starts at 52,000 rupees and the monthly EMI payment is 6,960 rupees. 12% interest rate will be applicable on the actual pricing of the Tata Ace if EMI facility is taken.
There are four engine options available for the Tata Ace truck based on diesel and CNG fuels. The maximum power output on average for these engines is 11.3 bhp @ 3,000 rpm and 40 bhp @ 3,750 rpm. That’s a good shifting of power over the rpm range, it’s not very powerful but for a truck of this size, it’s absolutely excellent.
For a truck of this price, the single-plate dry friction clutch does its job very well. The transmission system is equipped with a 6-speed manual gear system. The top speed would vary with the load it carries in the tail between 50 and 90 km/h.
The Tata Ace has a wheelbase of 1,650 mm. That’s not very long, but the purpose of Tata Ace is to transport goods between shorter ranges. The payload capacity varies between 600 to 1,030 kilograms.
However, to keep the cost absolutely low on Tata Ace trucks, manufacturer had to omit the power steering feature and opt for a manual steering instead. Although due to its compact nature the movement of Tata Ace will not really be difficult, yet having a power steering could make the experience a lot better.
