10. Tata Hexa
Tata Hexa is a compact SUV from Tata. The design is based on the previous Aria model, with certain level of facelifts applied. It comes with a 2200 cc diesel turbocharged engine with maximum 154 bhp power and 400 Nm torque. Convenience features like parking sensor, dual zone AC, steering mounted control, infotainment system etc. are all available.
Expected launch: July 2016
Price: Rs. 13 – 18 lac.
9. Mercedes-Benz CLA Facelift
The Mercedes-Benz CLA model was first introduced in 2014, and the 2016 model is about to be released within the next few months. There are two variants – 2.2 liter diesel or 1.6 liter petrol engine with 136 bhp and 156 bhp power respectively.
Expected launch: September 2016.
Expected price: Rs. 31 – 33 lac.
8. Volkswagen Passat GTE
Like many other modern premium car models, the Volkswagen Passat GTE integrates daytime riding lights. For safety, the Passat GTE comes with airbags, EBD, ABS, ESP, hill assist etc. It’s a hybrid vehicle with 1.4 liter 152 bhp turbocharged petrol engine, and a 113 bhp electric motor.
Expected launch: Late 2017.
Expected price: Rs. 20 – 25 lac.
7. Maruti Suzuki Ignis
The overall design of Suzuki Ignis strikes as a sign of aggressive masculinity. The ground clearance is 180 mm, higher enough to drive over the potholes. Two versions would be available – 1.2 liter petrol engine and 1.3 liter diesel engine.
Expected launch: October 2016.
Expected Price: Rs. 5 – 7 lac.
6. Renault Kwid
The first Kwid model from Renault was launched in 2015, and the upcoming model is going to feature an AMT shifter. Under the hood the vehicle packs a 1000 cc engine with 67 bhp maximum power output and 100 Nm maximum torque output. The fuel efficiency is declared to be 25.2 kmpl.
Expected launch: October 2016.
Expected Price: Rs. 3.50 – 4.50 lac.
5. Hyundai Elantra
Despite adding a premium touch to driving experience, the Hyundai Elantra 2016 price stays within a reasonable range. The engine is 1.6 liter 130 bhp engine petrol, and 1.6 liter diesel engine. The Indian variant is likely to have beige-black interior instead of the black-silver interior in the global variant.

4. Jeep Wrangler
Despite the recent controversies, the Jeep Cherokee vehicles are still great vehicles to own. The new Jeep Wrangler is a fully imported vehicle in the Indian market. It’s a luxury SUV with a 3.6 liter V6 engine that provides 285 bhp maximum power, and 352 Nm maximum torque. The transmission is 6-speed manual.
Expected launch: July 2016.
Expected Price: Rs. 25 – 32 lac.
3. Volkswagen Polo GTi
If you are into hatchbacks, then the Volkswagen Polo GTi would be the perfect value-for-money vehicle. This model has new grille and front bumpers in the exterior, and adjustable just about everything like seat, steering, mirrors etc. inside. Under the hood the Polo GTi model has a 1.8 liter turbocharged petrol engine with 180bhp power.
Expected launch: August 2016.

2. Tata Tiago
The Tata Tiago comes with all new exteriors and of course a much improved interior than the previous version. Despite being a very inexpensive daily driver car, the build quality on the interior and exterior are very premium. It has two variants – 1.2 variant petrol 3 cylinder, and the other one has 4 cylinders.
Expected Launch: October 2016.
Expected Price: Rs. 3.5 – 4.5 lac.
1. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
With a v-shaped grille in the frontal part and premium interior features, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is indeed going to be a pleasant addition in the 2016 lineup of Maruti vehicles. The engine is only 1.0 liter yet it is turbocharged, and goes by the term BoosterJet. The power figures are 110 bhp maximum power and 170Nm maximum torque.
Expected Launch: July 2016.
Expected Price: Rs. 7.50 – 8.50 lac.
