Honda BR-V: Honda has been present on the Indian roads long enough to know exactly what the Indian customer wants. But that is in the sedan segment. Their SUV portfolio in India has only boasted of the CR-V, and it did not exactly disappoint. However, with other manufacturers hitting the road with Compact SUVs, Honda was getting left behind. With the launch of their new vehicle in this segment, the BR-V had been garnering a lot of interest. Considering that Honda is following other carmakers, it should have done its homework and learned from others’ mistakes, but have they? Let’s find out.
Honda BR-V Specifications, Price in India
Price of Honda BR-V
Honda BR-V is currently priced between Rs 8.75 L and Rs 12.90 L (Ex-Showroom Price, New Delhi) but the price will vary according to the place.
Features of Honda Br-V
The new Honda BR-V is a 7 Seater Compact SUV but undercuts a few of its 5 Seater rivals and this is reflected in Honda managing over 9000 bookings within about a month of its launch. It is the longest car in this segment by quite a margin. The BR-V has been given a unique look and from the front, it does not look like any other Honda car. From the side, you can see shades of the Mobilio, but then it is a 7 Seater as well. The BR-V’s cabin is smart and the plastic quality is decent. The dash has a good feel and overall, the car scores more on practical reasons than aesthetic sense.
The BR-V has been launched with two engine options. The 1.5-liter i=DTEC diesel with fuel efficiency figures of 21.9 kmpl. The 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine churns out 119 bhp at an economy of 15.4 kmpl. The petrol variant also gets a CVT which provides 16 kmpl. The diesel only comes with manual transmission.
Honda has added features like keyless entry, automatic climate control, push-button start, and rear air-conditioning vents on the top-end model. Dual airbags will be standard. The car is easy to get in and get out of and the seats are well cushioned. The second-row legroom is good, though, three people might find it a bit tight sitting abreast. Overall headroom is ample.
