The all new Yamaha Saluto RX is from the legendary RX segment that had an incredible record with its performance style factor. The new Saluto RX is a 110 cc commuter motorcycle that is seemingly here to compete with bikes that promise great fuel economies and at with a low kerb weight of 98 kilograms, it looks to do just that. With the RX badging, Yamaha appears to be cashing in on the emotional factor.

The Yamaha Saluto RX 110 has been drawn from the Saluto 125 which did not generate a great deal of enthusiasm amongst bike lovers. Although it borrows styling bits from the 125 version, the chassis is new. The halogen headlamps, tail light and turn indicators are smart. The extra lightweight 10 spoke alloy wheel with tube tyres gives it a fine appearance. The fuel tank has resin covers from the left and right sides and has a capacity of 7.2 litres and the oil tank capacity is 1 litre. The instrument cluster is easy to view at night or during the day.
The Yamaha Saluto RX 110 has been given a four stroke, two valve engine with a single cylinder. It can deliver 7.39 BHP @ 7000 rpm and 8.50 NM @ 4500 rpm. It can reach a top speed of 90 kmph and the fuel economy at 82 kmpl sounds very efficient, however, in actual city conditions it might be closer to 70 kmpl.
Considering that it is an entry level vehicle and aims at the commuter segment, it does not have a lot of the fancy trimmings of higher end bikes. The seating is comfortable with good cushioning and it gives the convenience of an electric start. The pillion rider gets a grab rail and footrests. The Telescopic Forks suspension in front and Swingarm Suspension at the rear give a reasonable degree of relief. The speedometer and fuel gauge are analog and there is no trip meter. The headlight is sufficiently powerful to give a good view at night. The Saluto RX 110 is available in four colours.
