Maruti Suzuki Super Carry: Maruti Suzuki has finally entered the LCV segment with the new Maruti Suzuki Super Carry. While the initial vehicle is powered by a diesel engine, Maruti Suzuki also plans to launch a CNG variant for markets such as Delhi. Maruti plans to have a separate dedicated sales channel for their commercial vehicles.
To be launched towards the end of August, the Super Carry will have a balance of power as well as load capacity. The Super Carry will only be available in three cities to start with, Ludhiana, Ahmedabad & Kolkata. Superior White and Superior Silver are the two colour options that will be available to customers.

Features of Maruti Suzuki Super Carry
Based on the Suzuki LCV that is available in Japan, the Super Carry’s payload capacity is 740 kilograms, loading bay 3.25 square metres and ground clearance of 160 mm. The Super Carry does not have an air conditioner, however, it does boast of a lockable glove box, socket for mobile charging and provision for a stereo. With a wheelbase of 2110 mm and total length of approximately 4 metres, it does have a turning radius which is very similar to a hatchback.
The engine on the Super Carry is a twin cylinder 793 cc diesel with an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 22 kmpl. It is mated to a five speed gearbox and can reach up to 80 kmph. The engine dishes out 33 bhp of power at 3500 rpm and 75 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.
The Super Carry possesses a light steering wheel, multipurpose storage areas and bottle holders. The Load Sensing Proportioning Valve braking system allows for better stability during braking and has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
